Top Five Nba Basketball Players From The University of Memphis

The University of Memphis Tigers basketball team is consistently one of the finest programs in the nation. From the 1980s on, the Tigers have reached the NCAA Tournament at least four times per decade. During that run, the University of Memphis has had 22 players reach the NBA including the last two Rookie of the Year Award winners.

Penny Hardaway:

An All-NBA point guard during his early seasons, Penny Hardaway is one of the best NBA basketball players from the University of Memphis. Hardaway starred for the Orlando Magic for the first six seasons of his career, earning spots on four All-Star teams and three All-NBA teams during his tenure. He teamed up with Shaquille O’Neal to form a duo that carried the Magic to the NBA Finals and the conference finals before O’Neal’s departure. For his career as a whole, Hardaway averaged 15.2 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 1.6 steals per game.

Larry Kenon:

Larry Kenon was a star for the San Antonio Spurs in the 1970s and ranks among the best NBA basketball players from the University of Memphis. After averaging more than 20 points and 15 rebounds per game as a Tiger, Kenon began his professional career in the ABA as a double-double machine. When he joined the NBA with the Spurs, his scoring jumped to more than 20 points per game for four straight years. Larry Kenon made two NBA All-Star teams along with three more in the ABA, also taking home an ABA Championship with the Nets in 1974.

Derrick Rose:

With two professional seasons under his belt, Chicago Bulls’ point guard is a rising star and one of the top NBA basketball players from the University of Memphis. Rose took home the NBA Rookie of the Year Award in 2009 and followed it with an All-Star season in 2010. For his sophomore season in the NBA, he scored 21 points per contest on 49 percent shooting, adding four boards and six assists. He has really stepped his game up in two playoff appearances, giving the otherwise mediocre Bulls fighting chances to beat superior teams.

Tyreke Evans:

The most recent winner of the Rookie of the Year Award, Sacramento Kings’ guard Tyreke Evans is one of the best active NBA basketball players from the University of Memphis. In his only season with the Tigers, Evans led the team to the Sweet Sixteen. Evans had a terrific first season in Sacramento, becoming only the fourth rookie in NBA history to average better than 20 points, five rebounds, and five assists per game.

Rich Jones:

Though he did the bulk of his damage in the ABA, forward Rich Jones spent one season in the NBA and was one of the greatest basketball players from the University of Memphis. Jones was a two-time All-Star and part of the 1976 ABA Champion Nets. For his ABA career, he averaged 16 points and eight rebounds per game; in his sole NBA campaign, he averaged 11 points and six rebounds per contest for the Nets.

I want to buy tickets for a late February Chicago Bulls game. I want to surprise my boyfriend for his birthday (Feb 25). Any game as close as possible would be good (preferrably on a Friday or Saturday). My question is, how should I go about getting the best deals? Should I buy the tickets from now? Should I order them online? Are there different places I can buy tickets from? Are they all the same price?

I’ve never done this before, so any help would be appreciated.
